Our Parish Councillors
The Parish Council is made up of 15 Councillors – all of whom are volunteers.
The period of office of a Councillor is normally 4 years, but if they have been co-opted or elected at a by-election, they will serve until the next normal election.
The Chair is voted in annually at the Annual Meeting of the Full Parish Council in May.
To become a Parish Councillor you must be a British Citizen and over 18 – you must also qualify for ONE of the following:
- Live or work in the Parish (within 3 miles of the boundary) for the last 12 months.
- Be on the Electoral Register in the Parish.
- Be a tenant of or own land in the Parish for the last 12 months.
Councillors are required to make a declaration of interest about any disclosable pecuniary interest they have made which could potentially interfere with council business.
